Let’s talk about BBQ tofu. This is my go to protein for a quick dinner. (I don’t want to offend anyone, but) this recipe is great to replace taco meat, in rice bowls, and over salads. This tofu can be eaten hot, it’s great cold and it’s heats up really well on the stove top and in the microwave.
•1 cube of bridge tofu in a hot cast iron** with a lot of olive oil, salt, pepper, and sliced garlic (cubed fresh ginger is optional but a great addition). once this is golden and delicious I make the sauce in the pan.
•half a cup of ketchup
•1 T of rainy mustard
•1 T jam
•1 t maple syrup
•1 T hot sauce (I use green cholula)
•1 t garlic powder
Finish with a splash of vinegar, I prefer champagne vin
Once you’ve made the sauce continue to cook on medium for 5 minutes. This is a very forgiving recipe where all of the measurements can be eyeballed and slightly increased or decreased depending on your liking.
**a cast iron is crucial for this recipe and for a better quality of life.
